Free Pumpkin Spice Latte Earrings/ Applique Crochet Pattern

[Image description] A top down view of a white woman's hand holding the Pumpkin Spice Latte Applique with the earrings next to it on a wood grain background.

Hi there! Did you expect another post from me this week? Because I was not intending to make another but I had an idea for a pattern for Fall and realized the best time to release it was this week. Ya know, we’re all feeling Fall, wanting the cooler weather, and are so very ready for all things pumpkin… so I decide to go for a 2nd post and bring you the Pumpkin Spice Latte Earrings/ Applique crochet pattern.

First off, these are so cute, right? I can’t remember what I was watching on tv but I was sitting on my living room floor (it’s where I do most of my crocheting) and I felt the urge to make another pair of earrings. I have more than a few earrings patterns and I love them all, including pumpkins and candy corn for Halloween, but I in my heart I knew I needed to make another pair for this year. And maybe it’s because I’m always full of coffee but my brain immediately said “pumpkin spice life” which I interpreted as “pumpkin spice latte earrings.” And thus this pattern was born. I’ve already received compliments from strangers about them, so just sayin’ I’m glad my brain works in mysterious ways.

It took me a couple tries to get the design right, I didn’t like the first one that was worked from the bottom up… the cozy didn’t look right. So instead I did it in sections, Cozy first, then the Bottom, then the Top, and finally the Lid. I suggest fastening off between the Cozy, Bottom, and Top sections before moving on, it just makes the work neater. And if this is your first time trying color work, this is a small pattern that is perfect for such things. Only a couple color changes and I carried the yarn all the way across, so you don’t have to worry about bobbins or floats or even lots of ends. Just take it slow, one stitch at a time and change colors on your final pull through.

Below you’re going to find a photo tutorial of this pattern, which I like to do for earrings because it just makes them clearer to understand. If you want, you can definitely leave the cozy blank and then add the pumpkin later with some puffy paint or something. Or do it in a red and make it an apple! Like my Apple Cozy pattern. Just remember to have fun and when you’re making earrings I totally suggest stiffening them with fabric stiffener, makes them easier to wear and for people to compliment them. I have tested this, I know this for a fact 😀

Anyway, I hope you like this pattern and give it a try. You have a lot of room to customize and have fun with this design. I love how it turned out and I hope you tag me in your photos 😀
Please wear and wash your masks and be kind to each other.

Earrings Finishing
Like I do with all my earrings, I stiffened these with fabric stiffener. Just wet them down with the stiffener (I dilute it with water, so that it’s thinned out but not clear) and then lay them flat to dry completely. When they’re dry, attach the findings, such as jump rings and a hook, and wear. Be ready for compliments, the first time I worse these I got 2 from complete strangers and that was awesome.
