And with December, the #2019TSAP / Coffee Afghan comes to an end. Yep, that’s right, the Peppermint Latte Afghan Square is our last square this year, loves! I hope you love it, I went for an eye-catching design (at least, I think so).
So, wow, this year went by so fast! I use these squares to keep me grounded each month. They give me this connecting force throughout the year, a goal to work toward. Not to mention, they’ve been so fun! I loved making them. I’m even making another year of them, but in C2C, for next year.
And this month’s design is inspired by my least favorite coffee trend, sorry. I don’t like peppermint. Anything with peppermint tastes like toothpaste to me. Sorry, uh, not sorry? But, I will admit that a cup with an adorable little candy cane sticking out of it is beyond cute and that’s what you’ve got here. A cute little candy cane stir-stick.
Anyway, that’s it folks! The 2019TSAP is done! It’s all over. You can go home now 😉

Materials
- US H (5.00 mm) crochet hook
- Aran/ medium/ size #4 weight yarn
- 1.2 oz. / 60 yards
- At least 5 colors
- I used Caron One Pound
- Yarn needle
Terms/ Stitches used
- RS: right side
- Ch: chain
- St: stitch
- Slip st: slip stitch
- Sc: single crochet
Notes
- This pattern is worked flat from the bottom up, back and forth in rows, with a turn at the beginning/end of the row.
- This square measures about 7.5″ unblocked and will come out with 8″ with a sc border (explained below). The photos do not feature a border.
- The ch 1 at the beginning of the row does not count as a stitch.
- Every stitch in this pattern is a single crochet. The directions will only tell you what color (ie: Color A, Color B, etc…) and the number in the parentheses tells you how many scs to make.
- Your square may need some light blocking.
- You will need to know how to create a slipknot on your hook for this pattern.
- In the example, the inactive yarn is carried behind the active. If this is confusing, you might want to check out the helpful Moogly video on tapestry.
- Color A is off-white (Caron One Pound in Off-White), color B is blue (stash color), color C is white (stash color), color D is brown (stash color), and color E is red (Caron One Pound in Scarlett).
