Happy last Tuesday of May and you know what that means, another C2C square! And this month’s square is another sweet one – the Orange Creamsicle Afghan Square 😀
With the Summer nearly upon us, I decided that it would be very fun to make an iconic and delicious square but… I had to figure out what that meant. Like a lot of my squares, I went looking through my childhood memories for inspiration. It’s pretty easy to find a new idea, to be honest, as my family has always had a sweet tooth. In fact, it’s harder to narrow down what dessert I should try to graph – we have always been a cookie, a carton of ice cream, or a pie family through and through.
However, “warm weather iconic” helped lead me to a popsicle for this square. But I wasn’t just going to do any popsicle, I wanted to capture that contrast of the orange against the white in an Orance Creamsicle. I haven’t had one in so long but I remember that sweet smoothness of the vanilla against the bright flavor of orange (not real orange but some mysterious citrus sweet). And just like it tasting so good when the weather was way too hot, this week’s square is so good mixed with all the Delicious Desserts squares.
Anyway, I hope you are enjoying this trip through my childhood desserts and try out this square. See you in June for lots of fun new patterns (spoiler alert, there will be rainbows!).
I hope you like this year’s theme and join in using the hashtag #DeliciousDessertsC2CCAL and #DivineDebris so I can share your makes!

I hope you all are healthy and happy and like this new design. Please be kind to one and other, wear your masks, wash your hands, and be safe friends!
Please note: I was provided the yarn for this pattern by Lion Brand Yarn for the purposes of making the C2C Orange Creamsicle Afghan Square, without compensation. I wasn’t provided the yarn with the expectations of positive or negative reviews but I did enjoy using this yarn, I’ve used it many times and it’s always a great worsted acrylic yarn.

- This is a C2C pattern worked from the bottom right corner to the top left corner.
- This pattern is a square, so you don’t have to worry about increasing on one side and decreasing on the other.
- Each C2C block consists of 3 double crochets and a ch-3. The directions will only tell you what color (ie: Color A, Color B, etc…) and the number tells you how many blocks to make.
- Check out the tutorial by Meghan Makes Do on how to do C2C designs if you’re unfamiliar on this technique.
- You will need to know how to change colors in a C2C for this pattern.

- The even-numbered rows are worked up and the odd-numbered rows are worked down. The odd-numbered rows are the Right Side.
