The Free Stephanie Sweater Crochet Pattern – Make It Cozy!

The Stephanie Sweater free crochet pattern by DivineDebris.com

Ok, I know that I’m getting ahead of myself… but who’s ready for a sweater? It’s still so very warm, especially where I am here in SoCal, but I am dreaming of cool early Fall weather, which is why I designed this pattern. The Stephanie Sweater crochet pattern is, I’m hoping, going to be your favorite new early Fall sweater.

This design is based on a design I released back in April, the Stephanie Market Bag naturally. Almost as soon as I finished the bag I knew I wanted to make more things it with it. I love how open and textured it turned out. And, take it from someone who wore it out in the SoCal Summer, it’s not as heavy as it could be. The yarn and open desgin really makes it great for when the Fall is too warm still. And in 9 sizes, hopefully you’ll be able to find a size that works for you!

So, I do hope you like the new Stephanie Sweater and it becomes one of your new favorite sweater crochet patterns. It’s really easy and you can customize it as you’d like! And I hope, as well, that you’ll join me in dreaming of cooler temperatures and pumpkin cookies.

Please note: I was provided the yarn for this pattern by WeCrochet for the purposes of making this design, with compensation. I wasn’t provided the yarn with the expectations of positive or negative reviews. I do love Brava Sport, I also used it on my new Evelyn Crop Top Sweater, and I suggest it. Although it is a bit thicker than a sport weight, which is why I have the weight listed below as size #3.

Example of the completed Front Top, Back Top, and Neck Row completed to this point.

Creating the Sleeve Top
Fold together your Front Top and Back Top along the Neck Row so that rows 19 (19, 20, 20, 23, 23, 26, 26, 26) line up. Use the tails you left to seam together the first 9 (9, 9, 6, 6, 6, 6, 6, 6) sts and last 9 (9, 9, 6, 6, 6, 6, 6, 6) sts going toward the center. You will have 48 (54, 60, 66, 72, 78, 84, 90, 96) unworked sts on both rows 19 (19, 20, 20, 23, 23, 26, 26, 26), this is where you will work the Body section.

For the Xl size when you start to crochet the body, it goes from the trc rows and into the Hdcc . Are we supposed to have the 3 rows of single crochet there?

Hi! Yes, the pattern shows that for Top Front/Back the 1X/2X size, you should be ending on 3 rows of sc. Rows 21 - 23 are a repeat of Rows 7 - 9, which are sc.

I hope that helps :) -Amber
