November is still fall, right? I mean, in SoCal the weather does not really exhibit any fallness much, but if I’m going to down a pumpkin pie or 2 for Thanksgiving, then it’s fall. Which is why this month’s square is the Pumpkin Spice Latte Afghan Square! It just screams fall and cozy to me.
So, this month’s pattern is super easy but might be my favorite this year. I wasn’t quite sure what I wanted design for this month’s square, because I had done so many different squares all year I was worried another cup would be boring (also, I had December’s already designed and it’s also… a big ol’ delicious latte style drink). But I came to the conclusion, that outside of a big old piece of pie with a cup of coffee on the side, this was how I want to think of November. A pumpkin spice latte. Yum, right?
Now, I must address the elephant, the whipped cream on the latte is a little hard to read on my photos. I’m sorry for that. In person it looks a lot better, super clear and such, but the photos did not do it justice. I was thinking of adding some sprinkles or perhaps a caramel drizzle… but maybe that’ll be for later. I hope you forgive me.
Anyway, wow, square 11! How did the year fly by so fast?
Now, the question becomes, what will next year’s theme be? What should I make?

- Yarn needle
Gauge

Notes
- This pattern is worked flat from the bottom up, back and forth in rows, with a turn at the beginning/end of the row.
- This square measures about 7.5″ unblocked and will come out with 8″ with a sc border (explained below). The photos do not feature a border.
- The ch 1 at the beginning of the row does not count as a stitch.
- Every stitch in this pattern is a single crochet. The directions will only tell you what color (ie: Color A, Color B, etc…) and the number in the parentheses tells you how many scs to make.
- Your square may need some light blocking.
- You will need to know how to create a slipknot on your hook for this pattern.
- In the example, the inactive yarn is carried behind the active. If this is confusing, you might want to check out the helpful Moogly video on tapestry.
- Color A is off-white (Caron One Pound in Off-White), color B is dark green (stash color), color C is orange (stash color), color D is bronze (stash color), and color E is cream (Caron One Pound in Cream).
