Hello all! I hope you’re having a great week. I’ve been relaxing, trying to stay warm, and crocheting. 😀
I decided to try to start Valentine’s Day patterns early this year, so that people can enjoy the patterns before Valentine’s Day. I sometimes forget that holidays are coming up and don’t post a pattern until the week before and that’s not helpful. HA.
Oh, so I’m really loving seeing your #2018TSAP projects! They’re looking great and I just love seeing them. Thank you for sharing.
A huge thank you to Judy J. and For the Love of Buttercup for becoming my newest patrons on Patreon!
You can purchase an ad-free pdf of this pattern in my Ravelry shop. This purchase goes to help me continue to make patterns week after week.

Materials
- US G (4.00 mm) crochet hook
- Aran/ medium/ size #4 weight yarn
- 2.8 oz/ 142 yds
- I used Caron One Pound and Red Heart Super Saver
- Yarn needle
Gauge
- 17 scs x 14 rows = 4.25″
Terms/ stitches
- RS: right side (side that faces out)
- Ch: chain
- St: stitch
- Slip st: slip stitch
- Sc: single crochet
- Dc: double crochet
Notes
- This pattern is worked in the round, with a slip st into the first st of the row.
- The ch 1 at the beginning of the row does not count as a stitch.
- This pattern is worked from the bottom up in 4 sections – the Bag, the Top, the Closing, and the Cord.
- All of the stitches in the bag portion of this pattern are single crochets. The directions will only tell you what color (ie: Color A, Color B, etc…) and the number in the parentheses tells you how many single crochets to make.
- When starting a new row with a new color, just pull up the new color with your ch-1.
- In the example, the inactive yarn is carried behind the active. If this is confusing, you might want to check out this helpful Moogly video on tapestry.
- You need to know how to work into the back loop only (BLO) for this pattern. At the end of the row, slip st into both loops, this will help keep your seam straight.
- You will need to know how to create a slipknot on your hook for this pattern.
- If you don’t work this pattern in the back loop only, it might end up leaning. You can block the finished item to make it lean less.
- Color A is white (Caron One Pound in White), color B is yellow (Caron One Pound in Sunflower), color C is orange (Red Heart Super Saver in Pumpkin), and color D is red (Caron One Pound in Scarlet).
