Celestial Peaks Wall Hanging Free Crochet Pattern – New Year Stash Buster

Learn to make the colorful and customizable Celestial Peaks Wall Hanging from a free crochet graph by Divine Debris.

A couple weeks ago I said on Instagram that my goal for 2024 is to “have more fun and make more art” and I think I’m already doing a good job at that with this week’s new patterns. I love making wall hangings, they really give me so much joy and their creation is so, so artistically fulfilling. I suggest everyone find a wall hanging that makes you so happy. And this week’s Celestial Peaks Wall Hanging could be that wall hanging for you.

I haven’t made a wall hanging since October’s Fall Coffee Wall Hanging. Yes, that fact totally shocks me too. Designing and making pieces of crochet art like a wall hanging has been major place of joy and creativity for me the last few years. And I usually make them pretty consistently but for some reason during the Fall of last year I just kinda had way too much going on. I don’t know what it was, but I wanted to design a wall hanging but I couldn’t’ find the motivation. Do you ever get that way?

But luckily with the new year came new inspiration and I was able to work through whatever block I was having and finally designed a new one. I think what helped was all the colors and the soft rolling hills of this design. It was so fun to play around with colors and see which ones I wanted to match to create the illusion of deeper space, and of course the decision to add details like the fringe or stars. Which I always decide to do 😀 They’re just too cute not to.

Like nearly all my wall hangings, the graph is posted below. The pattern is worked from the bottom up in rows of single crochet stitches and I always like to keep the RS clean and tidy and do any floats or carrying yarn on the WS. It makes for a really nice look. And keeping with industry standards, if you’d like written instructions to this pattern you can pick those up in my Ravelry shop. I know talking about money makes people uncomfortable but I split up these patterns this way so that people do have an incentive to pick up the pdf, it helps me to keep making patterns here on my blog. I hope you understand.

Overall, I do hope you like this week’s new pattern. It was a joy to make. And it’s not a super complicated design so I think it would be great for practicing color changes and working on your color work skills. Thank you so much for checking out this pattern.

Please note: I was provided the yarn for this pattern by We Crochet for the purposes of designing the Celestial Peaks Wall Hanging crochet pattern, without compensation. I wasn’t provided the yarn with the expectations of positive or negative reviews but I’ve used Brava Worsted many times for home decor, garments, and whatnot and it’s one of my favorite worsted yarns to use – especially for nearly all my wall hangings. With color G, sew your wooden dowel or stick to your wall hanging (or sc into the last row across if you’d like).
