Happy Fall everyone!
Ok, what, it’s not quite Fall yet? Psh, it is in my house! Especially because I have this big and squishy pumpkin sitting on my coffee table. I’ve spoken at length here, at the grocery store, on social media, to my therapist, to plants… to anyone or anything that can listen that I LOVE Fall.
Like, I live for those cinnamon and pumpkin smells to be tingling my nose. I crave the candy shopping, the readying of my costume, and the putting up of decorations. Even as a kid I loved this time of year because my birthday is in October and it made it just special, to me at least. So now, as an adult I love to start my Fall prep in August. Already I’ve got pumpkins in my house, on my door, and some Halloween decor up on the walls. I’m that weird person who has goofy skeletons around the house in August. It’s ok, though, because my house smells GREAT!
Anyway, today’s pattern is one I’ve been working on for a while. If you follow me on Instagram you’ve probably seen the many, many, photos of this pumpkin since I started making it. I had some left over yarn from my Zelda Vest and I wanted to make a pumpkin design that was easy to identify but not your traditional color. I’ve always like the white pumpkins or even black pumpkins you can buy at craft stores about this time of year and I kind went into this design with that in mind. So, my blues and tans pumpkin was born! To bring it back to a little more of a Fall vibe, I created the stem and tendrils in a golden color (on of my favorite colors this time of year too!).
Honestly, I’m so jazzed about how this design turned out and all the kind words people have been leaving on the photos. I hope you like it as much as I do. I can’t wait to see your photos – don’t forget to tag me in the picture or use the hashtag #DivineDebris so I can find you!

Notes
- This pattern is worked in 3 sections, from the bottom up: the Pumpkin, the Stem and the Tendrils. The Pumpkin and the Stem are worked in the round, with a slip st into the first st.
- The ch 1 at the beginning of the row does not count as a stitch.
- Don’t forget to stuff the pumpkin before you fasten off. Also weave in your ends inside the pumpkin before you stuff it.
- If you leave long tails on the Tendrils and Stem you can use them to secure the pieces to the pumpkin.
- To make this pattern cleaner, I suggest using the Invisible SC Decrease instead of a sc2tog.
- Creating the sections by going through the center is very difficult on this pumpkin. If you find you can’t do it at all, go along the outside of the pumpkin like I did on my Pauline Pumpkin, just work as close to the center as you can. Your pumpkin might not look exactly like mine but it will be easier than going through the center.
- In the photos: the Pumpkin was made using Caron Big Cakes in Afternoon Tea, about 17 oz/ 976 yds. The Stem was created using Loops and Threads Impeccable in Gold, about 2 oz/ 127 yds

Note: if Rnd 111 is difficult, you can just use your yarn needle to seam it closed. This portion won’t be visible, as you’ll be covering it with the Stem.
Fasten off. Leave a LONG (like 50″ or more) tail and go through the middle/ hole in the center of RND 102 and direct the needle out the bottom (in the middle of the magic circle). Go around the outside of the pumpkin (pull this tight) and go back down through the center of the top (like the Fun Fall Pumpkins), navigating the needle through the middle of the pumpkin and out the bottom. I did this 5 times total, you can do this as many times as you want to get the puffy pumpkin sections. Once you did all your sections, weave in your yarn on the bottom of the pumpkin and move onto the stem.
If you find that going through the center of the pumpkin is difficult, go around the outside instead of through the center like I did on the Pauline Pumpkin. Just go down the side, weave your needle/ yarn around a sc close to the center and then back up to the top and loop around a sc there. Your sections will have two strands of yarn instead of 1 like the pictures show but as long as you pull your yarn tight, you’ll still get the puffed segments.

– Tendrils –
The tendrils are 2 different sizes – one begins with a ch-80 and the other a ch-50 beginning. You can create tendrils as long as you want, just make an even number of chains for your beginning row and add 3 for your beginning picot.
Row 1: Ch 53, picot using the first 3 sts, *hdc twice into the next st, hdc into the next st,* repeat from * to * 24 more times – 75 sc, 1 picot
Fasten off leaving a long tail. Use the tail to secure your tendril to your pumpkin.
Make as many tendrils as you would like for your pumpkin.
Tada! There it is, one pretty big pumpkin! 😀

There's a link above to how to do a magic circle. You can also just ch 2 and then start crocheting in to the 2nd ch from the hook. I hope that helps <3

I just finished this pumpkin in fall colors, it was so much fun! I should have it posted on Facebook at some point in the next month or so. Thanks for the great pattern!
