How are you, any of you that still might try reading my blog here?
As you may or may not know, we, the hubs and I, moved from NY to NC in May and it took a rather long time to get into our new house. It was during this time that I spent entirely too much time in hotel rooms by myself. It was the beginning of a dark, but not completely dark phase that I’m going through. I do this every time we move, it’s almost apart of the lifestyle. I get lonely, because I’m alone. I get depressed, it keeps me from enjoying things I usually care about, like crocheting. I’ve actually tried to create a post dealing about this a couple of times, but I could not find the words.
I’m going to try to be more regular about writing, if only because it will get me into a routine and make me feel more “normal” than I do at times.
In better news, I’ve be able to crochet regularly lately! That is quite the achievement, if you ask me, because those barefoot sandals that I last posted about were the only think I had made in months. Moving this time around has been difficult. I felt (and at times still feel) isolated, listless and disinterested.
I’d like to introduce you to my first ever amigurumi design, Wendy the Owl.
While browsing through Pinterest, which I do more often than I really want to admit, I saw the most adorable owl pattern. I set to make an owl of my own, only to find the pattern to me difficult to follow, which upset me because I wouldn’t say I’m a novice crocheter. What I decided to do, because I’m in better spirits, I decided to make my own pattern. HA! It’s available to download in pdf form from my website. If you happen to try it out, do let me know what you think. I have these lovelies hanging out in my living room, waiting for shelves that I have yet to put up. Oh, to download it you have to go through the “purchasing” process but you don’t have to enter any actual information about you to download a free item.
Hopefully in my next post I will be able to update further, talk a bit about what else I’m working on. Take care!
