Hey everyone! I hope you had a great week, I’ve had some good days and some bad but overall I’m super excited to share with you today’s new pattern. I posted lots of photos of it on IG and FB because I got a burst of inspiration and really wanted to make a “Pop Tart” and I had to tell everyone. 😀 I think it turned out pretty good, for a stuffed toaster pastry, don’t you?

There is a pdf available for purchase in my Ravelry shop, I hope you consider purchasing a pdf to help me continue to bring you patterns in the future.

Materials:

  • US G (4.00 mm) crochet hook
  • Worsted/ medium/ size #4 weight yarn
    • 1.8 oz. / 111 yards
    • At least 2 colors
  • Yarn needle
  • Amigurumi stuffing (if making a pillow)

Gauge:

  • 4″ = 16 scs x 16 rows
    Ravelry link

Terms/stitches used:

  • RS: right side (side that faces out)
  • Ch: chain
  • St: stitch
  • Slip st: slip stitch
  • Sc: single crochet
  • Spike sc: spike single crochet

Notes:

  • This pattern is worked in 2 sections – the pastries are worked separately and then secured together with a slip st. The individual pastries are worked row by row with a turn at the end/ beginning of the row.
  • The ch 1 at the beginning of the row does not count as a stitch.
  • The pastries are worked worked from the bottom up.
  • All of the stitches in this pattern are single crochets, because of this the sides portion (where all the color changes are) only tells you how many stitches to do in what color, this is what the number in the parentheses means.
  • Color A is tan, color B is blue/ pink, and color C is cream/ purple in the photos.
  • Also check out this post about tapestry crochet from Moogly, it’s helpful.
  • This pattern can be adapted to a purse (don’t seam up one side & add a strap), a tablet cover (don’t seam up one side, maybe add a button closure), a hot pad (make 2, sew them together but don’t stuff it), or even a blanket (make a bunch and sew them together).

Finishing:
To make the pastry like you see in these photos, make two of the pastries as you see above. When they’re both done, with the right side facing you (on both pastries), put the wrong sides together and sc through both edges of the of the pastries ¾ of the way around. Stuff your pillow (if you’re making one) before closing the 4th side. Fasten off, weave in all your ends.

Tada! There is it is, the long awaited Toaster Pastry pattern and I hope you love it as much as I do!

Thank-you so much for this pattern. They are my favourite flavour ;-) I found I had the behind color showing through on the wrong side rows so I knit the front using your pattern with 4.5mm needles and it was almost same size as yours. I made the back plain in crochet (to be stiffer) 2 st wider on each side and extra rows so they folded over to make it look like a pop tart crust.

Oh, though I just realized that row 7 adds up to 41 stitches instead of 40...:O With how it's written at the moment, it's 4+2+2+14+2+2+2+4+2+3+4=41.
