Hi there! Can you believe that it’s almost the end of June? It just seems like time flies by these days. Ya know? Well, at least we have a brand new crochet pattern to be excited about – the Alix Tank Top pattern!
This design is a fun one I’ve been working on for a while and it’s got quite a fun story behind it too. My friends at Hobbii had an idea and wanted to have fun wuth designers and fans by creating a design a long. This was a design that I would create but it required lots of input by my followers on Instagram. Using polls in my Instagram stories, I let them pick the yarn/ color arrangement, texture, and even the little details at the top of the pattern. So I got the ideas going, but the way this top turned out was really a labor of love for everyone.
Did I mention, I love how it tuned out? Here is the first post about it on Instagram so you can see what the other options could have been. It was such a blast to make and be excited to see what people voted on for how the top turned out. There’s even a highlight on my Instagram profile so you can see all the votes.
What do you think? Should I do more design a longs? Is that a fun idea or too much work for everyone?
Anyway I hope you like this pattern and give it a try!
Please note: I was provided Zafira for this pattern by Hobbii Yarn for the purposes of designing the Alix Tank Top crochet pattern, with compensation. I wasn’t provided the yarn with the expectations of positive or negative reviews but I did enjoy using this yarn. If you purchase yarn through any of the links in this post, I will be compensated.

Notes
- BTLO: (back third loop only): when looking at the stitch you will have the 2 loops on top of the hdc (the V on top), lean the stitch towards you and will see the third loop that runs along the back of the stitch. This is the loop you will work into. This stitch is also known as the Camel Stitch. Please note that when you work this stitch you will be looking at the back of the previous row’s hdc, so the third loop will be facing you.
- This pattern is worked in 3 sections: the Back piece, the Front piece, and the Sleeve details. Both the Back and Front pieces are worked individually in rows with a turn at the beginning of the row. When they’re done, you seam along the sides and straps to complete your project. The Sleeves are worked in the round along the arm holes with a join at the end of the rnd to the first st.
- The ch-1 at the beginning of the rows does not count as a stitch.
- Blocking is recommended for this pattern.
- The sample in the photos is the size medium made with Zafira by Hobbii. Color A is Rust, color B is Copper, and color C is Powder.

In the first row you tell us to chain 47, and then hdc in third stitch, thus leaving us with 46?! 47-3 is 44.

Yep, for the XS size you ch 47, skip 2 chs and hdc into the next ch (the 3rd ch from the hook) and then into the next 44 chs. The first hdc and the skipped chs count as 2 more hdc to the 44 you made, which adds up to 46 I hope that helps :)
