Hi everyone! I hope your week is going well. I’m doing really well, in a good place and on Sunday my hubs and I got to watch an early screening of Justice League, so that was pretty cool. And this week, again, I’m still in the Winter spirit. Like last week’s stocking basket, this week’s design is based on something that is super iconic for the season, coniferous trees. In this week’s mug cozy I wanted to make a simple design, just geometric shapes repeated, but given that it’s late Fall, it’s an image that most people would get too. Does that make sense? Maybe I’m over thinking this… I do that a lot. Perhaps I should say, I think it’s a super cute design and hope you do too. 😀
You can purchase an ad-free downloadable pdf in my Ravlery shop for this design for $1.00. It’ll help me to continue to make patterns in the future!
Materials
- US G (4.00 mm) crochet hook
- Aran/ medium/ size #4 weight yarn
- .5 oz. / 25 yards
- I used Caron One Pound
- Yarn needle
Gauge
- 4″ = 17 scs x 13 rows
Terms/ stitches
Notes
- This pattern is worked in the round, with a slip st into the first st of the row.
- The ch 1 at the beginning of the row does not count as a stitch.
- You can replace the first row with a foundation single crochet row if you’d like to.
- This pattern is worked from the bottom up.
- All of the stitches in this pattern are single crochets. The directions will only tell you what color (ie: Color A, Color B, etc…) and the number in the parentheses tells you how many single crochets to make.
- In the example, the inactive yarn is carried behind the active. If this is confusing, you might want to check out this helpful Moogly video on tapestry.
- You need to know how to work into the back loop only (BLO) for this pattern. At the end of the row, slip st into both loops, this will help keep your seam straight.
- If you don’t work this pattern in the back loop only, it might end up leaning. You can block the finished item to make it lean less.
- Color A is off-white (Caron One Pound in Off-White) and color B is green (Caron One Pound in Forest Green).
Finished measurements
- Height: 4.25″
- Diameter: 4.5″
