Happy August friends!
Actually, it’s almost the end of August isn’t it? This month has been a warm one and really took my motivation right out of me. It took me weeks to get an idea and make this week’s new release – the Pin It Wall Hanging.
Like a lot of people, I love to collect enamel pins. I have lots (not as many as some people) but quite a few. I love them but out of sight, out of mind. Ya know? And in an effort to keep from forgetting I have cute pins I want to wear everywhere, a while ago I wanted to design a wall hanging to display them on. Luckily, with this last month of hot weather in August it inspired me to finally make this pattern.
Like nearly all my other wall hanging patterns, the Pin It Wall Hanging is worked from the bottom up in rows of single crochet stitches. Using Stitch Fiddle I designed this pattern and this is a great stash buster (or at least was for me). I used dark gray yarn for the main color, left over from an older pattern, and just picked some other colors from my stash. Colors B – D use less than 1 oz/ 65 yds of yarn. And that’s only if you make the gold filigree along the edges the same color – using 2 colors you could really customize and stash bust.
Below the graph is available to view, that way if you’d like to make this as sc or hdc or dc you can do it… but you can also make it in C2C if you want to work the graph on a bias. And if you’d prefer you can knit, Tunisian crochet , and even cross stitch this design using the graph as well. It’s entirely up to you 😀
And in keeping with industry standards, if you’d like written instructions to this pattern you can pick those up in my Ravelry shop (it’s written in back and forth rows so it won’t help you with C2C). I know talking about money makes people uncomfortable but I split up these patterns this way so that people do have an incentive to pick up the pdf, it helps me to keep making patterns here on my blog. I hope you understand.
I don’t believe I’ll be releasing another pattern this month. I’m working away on a blanket and a new bag for Halloween. I can’t wait to show them to you. 😀 I hope you like this week’s pattern and find it useful for all your pin needs. Thank you so much for visiting!

Notes
- As is industry standard, this pattern is just a free graph and not written instructions but you can purchase the pattern for a fee in my Ravelry shop.
- Begin with a ch 55 in color A, turn, and start in the 2nd ch from the hook. Each row begins with a “ch 1, turn” and all st counts are 54 sc for the graphed portion.
- The odd rows are the RS.
- This pattern is worked from the bottom up, row by row with a turn at the beginning of the rows. Then you add a border in rounds around the outside. Finally, after blocking, you sew it to a stick and add tassels (optional).
- The ch 1 at the beginning of the rows does not count as a stitch.
- I worked this design using bobbins/ intarsia the whole way. I didn’t carry the yarn across but you can if you’d like, it’s entirely up to you (might be bulky).
- Blocking is suggested for this pattern.
- In the photos: Stash colors were used in various worsted weight yarns. Color A is black (Pound of Love by LBY in Charcoal), color B is yellow (Brava Worsted by We Crochet in Canary), color C is white (Pound of Love by LBY in White), and color D is Pink (Brava Worsted by We Crochet in Rouge).

Tassels (make 2)
For each tassel: make 10 lengths of yarn at about 6″ – 7” each. Cut another piece of yarn and tie it around the center of the bundle you just cut. Fold the bundle in half around the piece you just tied and using another piece of yarn, tie the two halves back into one. Attach each tassel to ch-1 sts at the corners. Feel free to steam block the tassels to get the yarn to lay evenly.
