Who loves bulky yarn? I know I do but I don’t really get a lot of time to work with it. But this week, this week is different. This week I have a great way to use up your bulky yarn, with the Charismatic Pillow crochet pattern!
First I want to say Happy Birthday to Fairfield! They sent me some lovely polyfil to celebrate and I’m just one among 80 talented designers who are celebrating the 80 days of Fairfield! I hope you like this design and check out so many lovely products from Fairfield, like polyfil that I used for this pillow. And don’t forget to enter their giveaway!
So this week’s design was inspired by my the Pretty Bobble Pillow, my last bulky weight pillow that I just love to pieces. I love how it turned out, all geometric and fun, and that’s the vibe I brought into this week’s pattern. I also wanted it to be simple, keep it to 2 colors – then you can customize it to your home decor colors. That is if you have colors, I don’t have colors. My decorating is as varied as my patterns these days. 😀
Oh, and the name. The name comes from the super squishy tweed yarn I used for this design – Charisma from Michael’s Stores. I just thought Charismatic Pillow was a great name for this crochet pattern. I hope you like it as much as I do 😀
I hope where ever you are you’re having a great time and being safe and healthy. Hugs friends. Wash your hands and masks.

- This pattern is worked in 3 sections: the Front, the Back, and Securing. The Front and Back are worked back and forth in rows, with a turn at the beginning/ end of the row. The Securing is worked around the edge of both pieces.
- The ch 1 at the beginning of the row does not count as a stitch.
- The stitches in the sides portion are a combination of single crochets and bobble stitches. The directions will only tell you what color (ie: Color A, Color B, etc…) and the number in the parentheses tells you how many single crochet/ bobble sts to make. EX: B: (1), A: (1), B: Bbl, means sc, sc, bobble in color B, A, B (in the order). Rounds with just A: (10) mean just single crochets are worked.
- You will need to know how to create a slipknot on your hook for this pattern.
- Color A is mustard (Charisma Tweed in mustard) and color B is off white (Charisma Tweed in cream).
