Hey, how are you doing today? Me? Oh, I’m having a hard time getting back into the groove of things after my little vacation. My husband was home for a few more days after we got back from visiting family and we just lounged, caught up on tv and, of course, I did some crocheting. I’m already thinking of fun Valentine’s Day designs, like the Heart Cozy from last week, and also maybe some fun spring designs. I want to make a flower, wouldn’t that be nice? Something bright and fun for Spring! If you’ve got some fun ideas for me, as always, leave ’em in the comments!
So, this week, I’m bringing you another design in the Willow Line. After making the mug cozy, I remembered how much I like that line and so I decided to make something else fun, quick, and cute: an earwarmer. This design is really easy to adapt, by changing the pattern by multiples of 2. I hope you give it a chance and keep those ears warm!

You can get an ad-free downloadable pdf from my Ravelry shop for this pattern for $.50.

Materials:

  • US H (5.00) mm crochet hook
  • Worsted weight/ size #4/ medium weight yarn
    • 1.00 Oz/ 52 yards
    • I used various WW yarns
  • Yarn needleRavelry link

Gauge:

  • 4.5” x 4.5” = 16 scs x 17 rows

Terms/ stitches:

  • RS: right side
  • Ch: chain
  • St: stitch
  • Slip st: slip stitch
  • Sc: single crochet
  • Spike sc: spike single crochet

Notes:

  • This pattern is worked in the round, with a slip st into the first st from the last.
  • The ch 1 at the beginning of the row does not count as a stitch.
  • This pattern is worked from the bottom up.
  • You need to know how to make a spike single crochet for this pattern.
  • I like to do the overlap of the spike sc in the same color because it creates a lovely texture – this is a deliberate choice on my part and not an error in the pattern.
  • If you want to make this design smaller or larger, just add it in multiples of 2 (make sure it’s an odd number at the end).
  • Color A: is gray, Color B: is green, and Color C is purple. You can carry the yarn up the back if you so chose, or fasten off after each color change.

Finished measurements:

  • 22″:
    • Height: 3″
    • Width: 11″
  • 20″:
    • Height: 2.5″ – 2.75″
    • Width: 10″
  • 18″:
    • Height: 2″ – 2.25″
    • Width: 9″

Nice Job. Good way to use up all the tiny balls of yarn that I have in my pretzel bottle. Ooh, I am thinking happy colors too! Thank you for all your creativity and sharing with us!
