Happy Tuesday! I hope you’re doing well today because I am… mostly because I couldn’t wait to release this pattern! I love the fun design and I think it’s perfect for the Winter/ Holiday season because it really does scream December to me. Doesn’t it scream that to you?
With this design I wanted to make something that resembled pulled candy, the fun kind you can get around this time of year. I only stuck to 2 colors but I bet you could use a ton or even a variegated yarn to really make this design fun!
Either way, I hope you like this pattern. I included 4 sizes so I hope one of them works for you.

Materials:

  • US G (4.00 mm) crochet hook
  • Worsted/ medium/ size #4 weight yarn
  • Yarn needle

Gauge:

  • 4″ x 4″ = 15 scs x 14 rows (BLO)

Terms/ stitches:

  • RS: right side (side that faces out)
  • Ch: chain
  • St: stitch
  • Slip st: slip stitch
  • Sc: single crochet
  • Rsc: reverse single crochetRavelry link

Notes:

  • This pattern is worked in 2 parts: the band which is back and forth and then seamed and then the cuff, which is worked on the band in the round, with a slip st into the first st from the last st.
  • The ch 1 at the beginning of the row does not count as a stitch.
  • Following the first row, sc into the back loop (BLO) and front loop only (FLO).
  • If you don’t work this pattern in the back loop only, it might end up leaning. You can block the finished item to make it lean less.
  • This pattern is worked from the bottom up
  • All of the stitches in this pattern are single crochets, because of this the cuff portion (where all the color changes are) only tells you how many stitches to do in what color, this is what the number in the parenthesis means.
  • Color A is black, color B is white, and color C is red photos.
  • Also check out this post about tapestry crochet from Moogly, it’s helpful.

Row 2: Ch 1, sc into the BLO across –
Row 3:  Ch 1, sc into the FLO across –

30 (38, 46, 52): Turn, ch 1, sc across – 5 (5, 7, 7) scs

Fasten off leaving a long tail. Secure row 1 to row 30 (38, 46, 52) with which ever seaming technique you’re comfortable with.
