Happy last Tuesday of April… last couple days of April in fact. 😀
I mean, I’m not cheering for the coming of May but I do not have a problem with finishing up April in good spirits. I want to celebrate all the fun and happy that I encountered this month. And it was a good month for me! Which, if I’m being honest, I don’t say a lot. It’s been a lot of up and down in my life the last couple years and so I’m really thankful for the times when I feel happy.

Anyway… enough about me. This week’s design is an extra, a bonus as it were. I have tried to cut back to only releasing designs 4 times a month on my blog here, so any more than that is a bonus. I released this pattern originally as a guest blogger on another blog but now I’m publishing it here too. Yay, right? And I think it’s a fitting way to welcome in the warmer weather. It feels like we skipped right past Spring here in SoCal and jumped right into Summer, with bright and shining sun.
Anyway, I really hope you like this design & how it goes with my anchor patterns of the past 🙂

    Ravelry link

Terms/ Stitches used

  • RS: right side
  • Ch: chain
  • St: stitch
  • Slip st: slip stitch
  • Sc: single crochet

Notes

  • This pattern is worked flat back in forth in rows, with a turn at the beginning/ end of the row, from the bottom up.
  • The ch 1 at the beginning of the row does not count as a stitch.
  • Every stitch in this pattern is a single crochet. The graphing directions will only tell you what color (ie: Color A, Color B, etc…) and the number in the parentheses tells you how many scs to make.
  • Your mat may need some light blocking.
  • You will need to know how to create surface crochet for this pattern.
  • In the example, the inactive yarn is carried behind the active. If this is confusing, you might want to check out the helpful Moogly video on tapestry.
  • 6 colors were used in the example piece. You can make it in a 2 color scheme by counting colors B – F as the same color.
  • In the example: color A is off-white (Caron One Pound in Off-White), color B is darkest blue (misc stash color), color C is medium blue  (misc stash color), color D is teal blue (misc stash color), color E is bright blue (misc stash color), and color F is aqua (misc stash color).

– Border –

Starting in the right corner of row 49, pull up a loop in the end sc of that row in any color (color D was used in the example). With the right side facing you, surface crochet along the rest of row 49, rotate your whole piece and surface crochet down the row edges, rotate your whole piece and surface crochet along row 1, rotate your whole piece and surface crochet along the row edge until you reach row 49. Slip st into the same space you begin your surface crochet and then pull your ends through the hole. Weave in the ends on the back side of your mat.

– Fringe –

Add fringe along the row ends on both sides in the colors you’d like. The example uses the colors in the rows as indicator for what the fringe color would be (2 rows of color A on the top and bottom and 9 rows each of colors B – F)  that are approximately 12″ – 14″ in length before they’re folded in half and added along the edges.

Tada! There’s the Amesome Anchor Mat! I hope you love it and use the hashtag #DivineDebris on Instgram and I’ll share it on my stories.
