Free Snowflake Earwarmer Crochet Pattern

Snowflake Earwarmer free crochet pattern by DivineDebris.com

Hi! How’s everyone doing this week? I hope you’re ready for another snowflake themed pattern… because there’s a new one this week, the Snowflake Earwarmer Crochet Pattern. 😀

I really liked the way last week’s design turned out and it seemed like you all out there did too, so I kept that going. Originally I wanted to post the Brittany Bow ring pattern but I think I’ll put that off, because I only get so long with snowflakes and Winter designs, rings are year round (believe me, I wear my Brittany Bow ring design all the time in a variety of colors.)

So, this week’s design is a earwarmer with a fun snowflake pattern in the center that’s different from all the other snowflakes I’ve made in the past. I really love that about snowflakes, they’re so unique and individual that when I’m designing with them they can be whatever size and design I want! It’s all up to my creativity how I want the snowflake to look, I like that power. 😀 I mean, this week’s other new release Audrey Avocado Hat, I to stick to a specific look or else you would have no idea it was an avocado.

I do hope you like this pattern and make a couple earwarmer/ headbands, I’ve included 3 sizes below to make it easier for you to check off people on your gifting lists.

You can purchase an ad-free downloadable pdf of this pattern in my Ravelry shop.

Materials

  • US K (6.50 mm) crochet hook
  • Bulky yarn/ size #5 yarn
  • Tapestry/ Yarn needle

Gauge

  • 12 scs BLO x 12 rows = 4″

Terms/ stitches used

  • Ch: ChainRavelry link
  • St: Stitch
  • Slip St: Slip St
  • Sc: Single Crochet

Notes

  • This earwarmer is worked in the round, with a slip st at the end of the row into the first stitch of that same row.
  • This pattern is worked from the bottom up.
  • The ch 1 at the beginning of the row does not count as a stitch.
  • Following the first row, sc into the back loop only. At the end of the row, slip st into both loops of your 1st st, this will help to keep your seam straight.
  • Every stitch in this pattern is a single crochet. The directions for the graphing rows will only tell you what color (ie: Color A, Color B, etc…) and the number in the parentheses tells you how many scs to make.
  • In the example, the inactive yarn is carried behind the active. If this is confusing, you might want to check out the helpful Moogly video on tapestry.
  • Color A is the blue and color B is the cream. I used Loops and Threads Charisma for this headband for size 20″, color A in electric blue measured 2 oz/  60 yds and color B in off white measured .5 oz/ 16 yds.
  • You can replace the first row with a foundation single crochet row if you would prefer.
  • For the snowflake I dropped the cream when it wasn’t in use and pulled it across to use like in the Candace Headband.
