Ah, it’s November. It feels like it has taken forever to get here, ya know? I saw a post from April shared again on Twitter and could have sworn it was from years ago. Ha! I’m thankful for crochet, keeps me going. Ya know? And it’s nice to have a simple project to work on, like this week’s new Pretty in Gingham Headband.

I love my Pretty in Gingham line, which you probably know. I just love the gingham design, it’s fun and pops and pairs so well with the humble single crochet. And it looks so good in a variety of colors! You can really just have a great time with the colorwork.

And now with this design, it’s super easy and simple. It’s worked as one piece, then you just seam the ends together. I blocked my headband, because sometimes I worry colorwork like this will feels a bit stiff and a nice steam blocking will loosen things up, but my tester didn’t have any issues. I guess that’s just a personal preference but it is an option if you think it’s tight. But, wow, that tight knit will make for a cozy and warm ear warmer.

Anyway, I do hope you like this design. It’s really easy, maybe a little time consuming but if you can do a single crochet and change colors, you can definitely make this pattern. I

I hope where ever you are you’re having a great time and being safe and healthy. Hugs friends. Wash your hands and masks.

Please note: I was provided the yarn for this pattern by Lion Brand Yarn for the purposes of making this design, without compensation. I wasn’t provided the yarn with the expectations of positive or negative reviews but I did enjoy using this yarn, I’ve used it many times and it’s always a great worsted acrylic yarn.

  • The ch 1 at the beginning of the row does not count as a stitch.
  • Every stitch in this pattern is a single crochet. The directions will only tell you what color (ie: Color A, Color B, etc…) and the number in the parentheses tells you how many scs to make.
  • Your headband may need some light blocking.
  • In the example, the inactive yarn is carried behind the active. If this is confusing, you might want to check out the helpful Moogly video on tapestry.
