A Break From Fall

In the weeks past I talked about how excited I am for Fall and for Halloween and that really hasn’t changed. However… while I was thinking about a pattern for this week I kinda wanted something, not Fall related. Sure, next week I’ll be back with a Halloween pattern (in fact I’m watching The Addams Family on Netflix and in the spirit of the season) that I’m already working on, but for this week I wanted something fun and light that I could wear. It’s actually still rather warm around here so I haven’t had the ability to wear lots of my warmer Winter items and that disappoints me. Although I did wear my Falling Leaves Necklace the other day and I thought it was lovely.
For this pattern I used some of the Stitch Studio by Nicole Storybook Lullaby, which I still have on hand because I bought so much of it and really didn’t like it all that much. Too many knots. I had quite a few knots this time around too but it wasn’t as bad as some of the previous skeins I worked. I was also in the mood for another breezy large crochet hook pattern but this scarf, like the Abby Scarf, is pretty much up to the crafter to do as you would like. If you want to use a smaller hook and make the pattern longer/ shorter, you can and I’m sure it will look adorable. I do hope you’ll share photos with me here, on FB, Ravelry or with the hashtage #DivineDebris on IG or Twitter, so I can see what you did with this very simple pattern.

Here it is, the Julie Scarf:

Pattern instructions:

Row 1: Ch 23, dc into the 4th ch from the hook (skipped sts count as a dc) and across – 21 dcs
Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as dc here and throughout), turn, dc twice into the first st, dc into the next 17 sts, dc3tog the last 3 sts – 20 dcs, 1 dc3tog
Row 3: Ch 2 (counts as the first st of the dc3tog), turn, dc2tog the next 2 sts, dc into the next 17 sts, dc 3 times into the last st – 1 dc3tog, 20 dcs
Rows 4 – 59: repeat rows 2 – 3
Row 60: Ch 3, dc into the next 19 sts – 20 dcs
Fasten off and weave in your ends.
I changed colors every 12 rows, which you don’t have to do. I just wanted a fun pastel rainbow colored scarf.
I do hope you like this pattern, it’s simple and I had fun making it. It worked up really quickly for me, just one evening while watching Grey’s on Netflix. There’s a lot of movement and it’s really light, so you could wear this during the cooler months without really getting that icky sweaty neck.

Some new updates in my life, I have a brand new item in the Josephine Line, my Josephine Hat, and it’s on sale for $1.99 right now. And, I’m not sure if you noticed the new logo on the side, but this month marks my first (and hopefully not last) month as a designer for The Pattern Pack! I’m super excited about the design that I submitted, it’s the Bewitching Hat, and I had to send this in months ago and I had to keep quite about it before now. I really liked the way this hat turned out, so that was actually really difficult for me. 😀

Well, I hope you enjoy this pattern and come back next week for a new Halloween inspired pattern.

Take care of yourselves. <3
