How did it become April already? I meant to have these earrings ready sooner but it felt like I lost about a week of March and boom, now we’re into April. Luckily, if you’re like me you’ll totally wear these any time of year. Who doesn’t love to represent one of the most versatile veggies out there? Well if you do want that orange love, say hello to this week’s new Stuffed Carrots Crochet Earrings pattern.
Now, if you’re wondering are these earrings inspired by my Stuffed Mushrooms Earrings… yes, yes they are. Those are some of my most favorite earrings I’ve ever made and I wear them all the time. I knew that when I decided to make carrot earrings I needed to make them as wonderfully squishy as those mushies. Luckily, that’s a really easy job to do with carrots.
These earring are worked in a really simple carrot, where you make 2 pieces of an arrow looking piece, then you seam them together (don’t forget to stuff it) with a simple sc border. To finish off the carrot look, you then add a couple rows of a stem and some ch sections to give it all that movement that green carrot tops have. I debated adding some high lights, going cross wise on the body of the carrot, to give it dimension but I ultimately decided to keep it simple. But if you decide to add those I’d love to see it.
I have already been wearing my finished carrots and I just love them. But you know what I was thinking? You could easily turn this into an amigurumi design by working it up with a 4.00 mm hook and a couple colors of worsted weight yarn. It’d be so fast and probably make a great teacher gift, don’t you think? I bet my niece would love that kind of gift now that I think if it. Maybe I’ll make one for her one of these days.
Anyway, I hope you like this new pattern and try them out. After all, carrots aren’t only for Easter season.

- US 1.65 mm steel crochet hook
- Size 10 crochet thread
- Less than .1 oz total
- 5 colors
- I used Aunt Lydia’s Size 10 Thread
- Needle that will weave in your ends
- Jump rings
- Metal french hooks
- Jewelry pliers
- Fiber Fill
Gauge
- 12 sc x 10 rows = 1”
Terms/ Stitches used
- St: Stitch
- Ch: Chain
- RS: Right Side
- Sc: Single crochet
- Join: Join with a slip st
- Sc2tog: Sc 2 sts together
Notes
- This pattern is worked in 3 sections: the 2 Carrot pieces, the Seaming, and the Stem.
- The ch 1 at the beginning of the rows does not count as a stitch.
- You could easily make this into a little ami by using a 4.00 mm hook and worsted weight yarn to make it.
- In the photos: Color A is orange and color B is green. Aunt Lydia’s Size 10 crochet thread was used.

(make 2 per Carrot Earring)
(RS) Row 1: A: Ch 2, sc twice into the 2nd ch from the hook – 2 sc
Row 2: Ch 1, turn, sc across — 2 sc
Row 3: Ch 1, turn, sc twice into both sts – 4 sc
Rows 4 – 5: Ch 1, turn, sc across — 4 sc
Row 6: Ch 1, turn, sc twice into the first st, sc into the next 2 sts, sc twice into the last st — 6 sc
Rows 7 – 8: Ch 1, turn, sc across — 6 sc
Row 9: Ch 1, turn, sc twice into the first st, sc until 1 st remains, sc twice into the last st — 8 sc
Rows 10 – 11: Ch 1, turn, sc across — 8 sc
Row 12: Ch 1, turn, sc twice into the first st, sc until 1 st remains, sc twice into the last st — 10 sc
Rows 13 – 14: Ch 1, turn, sc across — 10 sc
Row 15: Ch 1, turn, sc twice into the first st, sc until 1 st remains, sc twice into the last st — 12 sc
Rows 16 – 17: Ch 1, turn, sc across — 12 sc
Row 18: Ch 1, turn, sc into the first st, sc2tog the next 2 sts, sc across until 3 sts remain, sc2tog the next 2 sts, sc into the last st — 10 sc
Row 19: Ch 1, turn, sc across — 10 sc
Row 20: Ch 1, turn, sc into the first st, sc2tog the next 2 sts, sc across until 3 sts remain, sc2tog the next 2 sts, sc into the last st — 8 sc
Row 21: Ch 1, turn, sc across — 8 sc
Row 22: Ch 1, turn, sc into the first st, sc2tog the next 2 sts, sc into the next 2 sts, sc2tog the next 2 sts, sc into the last st — 6 sc

Fasten off, weave in your ends. Move onto seaming.
Seaming
Take 2 of your finished Carrots, hold them together so the wrong sides are touching and both Rows 1 lines up with Rows 23. With color A, pull up a loop on the first st of Row 23 (of both Carrots), sc into the next 4 sts, rotate your piece so you’re working down the row ends, sc into the next 23 row ends, rotate your piece, sc into the other side of Row 1, rotate your piece, sc into the next 23 sts (make sure to stuff your Carrot before finishing these 23 sts), join – 51 sc

Row 1: With color B pull up a loop in the first st you made on the Seaming, ch 1, sc into the next 4 sts – 4 sc
Row 2: Ch 1, turn, sc into the first st, sc2tog the next 2 sts, sc into the next st – 3 sc
Row 3: Turn, ch 15, slip st into the next st, ch 25, slip st into the middle st again, ch 15, slip st into the last st – 2 ch 15 spaces, 1 ch 25 space
Fasten off, weave in all your ends. Attach jump rings and fish hook and enjoy.
