Vanessa, a cowl scarf

Updated: You can now find the free pdf to download at Divine Debris.

Add this pattern to your Ravelry queue here.

So, how are you doing? I’ve been trying to get a scarf ready to post in here for weeks now but, alas, homework has kinda kept my time completely occupied. Not to mention, my wrist is killing me from all the typing and clicking of the mouse so crocheting hasn’t been super fun or easy for me for the last little while.

That all being said, I did come up with a crochet pattern but… the pictures aren’t super great because my camera was does not like how bright red the yarn I used is. Er, I need to read more about how to use my camera. Ha. 🙂

This scarf is going to be for me to use for a Halloween costume, although I give no hints as to that at this time. It’s going to be a surprise! I will post pictures of me and the hubs after we go to the party we’re attending and show off how awesome we are. 😀

  • Large-eye blunt tapestry needle

Notes:

  • This scarf is worked flat and then one side is laid on top of the other and fastened, by weaving with yarn.
  • If you make it in two colors you don’t have to fasten the yarn off during the switches, just drop the yarn and pick up the new color. This will be hidden after the ends are fastened together as described in note 1.

Please let me know how this pattern looks and reads. I’ve got a pdf for it in the works but I haven’t had the time to put the finial touches on it. If you guys like it and it works for everyone I’ll make a pdf so that it’s easier to access. 😀

Happy soon to be Halloween everyone, what are you dressing up as?

Oh, I hope not too intrigued. We thought up a costume theme we think is awesome but I don't want to get too much excitement around it, as I don't want anyone to be let down. :) Also I'm glad you like the cowl.
