Hey everyone, how are you doing this week? I’m pretty ok, as far as most things are concerned. I’m super stressed out about moving and getting my house ready to sale. I have even found that crochet isn’t as relaxing as I’d like it to be. How do you de-stress when crochet isn’t working? I’ve been a crocheter for so many years that I can’t even sit and enjoy a tv show without trying to work on a project – like, do you actually sit and watch tv without doing something else? I don’t know how to do that anymore! It’s a strange thing that I think I’ve developed after all my years of crocheting while half listening to tv. I mean, it’s just a small thing so whatevs. This move is really pushing my anxiety to the next level and I just feel like hiding. I don’t usually like to get TOO personal when I’m writing these posts, I see this blog as more of a pattern blog than a personal one, but I do want to be authentic and honest about who I am. That’s why I plan so much with my patterns, planning helps me to conquer my anxiety. I just wanted to talk a bit about me just in case someone else out there is feeling overwhelmed with anxiety and felt alone – you’re definitely not alone <3
SO… I know that was a lot. This week’s design isn’t a lot- it’s a very simple and cute pair of earrings. I wanted to include more photos than I usually do because with earrings I feel like the more photos the better & it’s such a small pattern that it looked bare without some photos. 😀 I do hope they help you to make a fun pair or two for the Spring and Summer months (whenever they show up, it’s so cold here it feels like December again).

You can purchase an ad-free pdf of this pattern in my Ravelry shop. This purchase helps me to make patterns week after week.

– Finishing –
As with all my earring patterns, you definitely want to use fabric stiffener on these before you wear them. Just wet them down and lay flat to dry completely. When they’re dry, attach the findings and wear everywhere.

Tada! There it is. I told you it was a super quick pattern. I do hope the photos are helpful!
See ya next week

l totally agree with you. I can't watch tv anymore without a project but if I don't know the stitch it does get stressful. Crocheting is my relaxion time and helps me to be happy while I'm creating something. I have high anxiety and depression problems and this helps me so much. I'm trying to make earrings now and was so excited but I'm finding it really hard to work with the tiny thread. Just ordered a magnifier to wear as a headband to try. I sure hope I can do them.

I have certain projects that are just mindless and are useful house projects I do when I need a mind break. Last year I hit a major crochet block and it took filling my linen closet with dishcloths to break through and move forward and this year I've been fine.

Crochet can be very relaxing but when a project becomes stressful, I put it aside and work on something I know I can complete. Sometimes its a toy, a doll item, or something for the house, but its always easy and produces that stress free moment I need.
